Session Overview
Many learning programs rely on managers to reinforce key behaviors, but few are intentionally designed with manager involvement in mind. The result? Strong training experiences that struggle to translate into sustained behavior change.
This session explores how to move beyond reliance and toward intentional design by leveraging manager partnership as a core driver of learning impact. Using a real-world onboarding transformation as a case example, participants will be introduced to a practical framework for aligning leaders, enabling managers with simple and actionable tools, and reinforcing learning in the flow of work.
Attendees will leave with clear strategies to design programs that fit the realities of the workplace, helping turn insight into everyday behavior and driving measurable impact across their organizations.
Many organizations recognize that manager involvement is critical to learning success, but most programs are not intentionally designed to support manager behavior in a way that is realistic and sustainable. The result is familiar: training creates strong initial engagement, but that momentum quickly fades when it comes time to apply learning on the job.
This session connects directly to the theme of turning insight into impact by focusing on what actually drives behavior change after the training ends. It challenges the idea that manager involvement is a buy-in problem and reframes it as a design opportunity.
Grounded in a real-world onboarding transformation, this session shares how manager partnership can be built into the structure of a program through clear alignment, simple and actionable expectations, and consistent reinforcement over time. Rather than asking more of managers, participants will explore how to design for the way managers already work.
